Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a scrambled hash, never as the password itself). If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID. When you agreed to our terms.
- What you tell us: your answers to "About you" (your channel, what and how much you stream, how you make clips, what editing costs you) and to the feedback form, and notes you send from the site.
- Your streams and clips: the links you paste, the videos we download from them or that you upload, transcripts of what is said, the clips, titles, captions and edits made from them, and your choices (framing, kept or skipped clips, ratings).
- How you use EZClips: which clips you open, download, keep, share or rate, linked to your account, so we can see what works.
- Technical details: your IP address and the pages and addresses your browser asks for, in our server logs.
2. How we use it
Only to run EZClips and to test and improve it:
- To run EZClips for you: download your streams, find the moments, make and show you your clips.
- To test, fix and improve EZClips, including how it finds moments and writes titles and captions.
- To understand who our testers are and what they need from EZClips.
- To keep the service secure, stop abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To contact you about your account or the test (we don't send marketing email).
We don't use your data for anything else, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Who else sees it
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information or your streams and clips, and we don't share them for advertising. We use a few services to run EZClips, and they get only what they need to do their part:
- Anthropic (our AI provider): the transcript of your stream (the words said, with timings) and details about clips, to pick moments and write titles. Your video itself is not sent.
- Cloudflare: carries traffic between your browser and EZClips and protects the site.
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google. And YouTube (Google's): to see how clips from your channel have done, we may search YouTube for your channel's name.
- The platform your stream is on (Twitch, Kick, YouTube): we fetch the video from the link you give us.
Turning speech into text, finding moments in the video and making the clips all happen on our own computers. Anyone you give a share or phone link to can see what that link shows. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people's safety. If EZClips itself were ever sold or merged, this policy would still apply to your data.
4. Cookies and browser storage
We only use what EZClips needs to work: a cookie that keeps you signed in (up to 30 days), one that lets a shared link open a stream, and a short-lived one while you sign in with Google. Your browser also remembers a few of your choices (like whether effects are on). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
5. How long we keep it
- Your account: for as long as it exists.
- Your streams, clips and transcripts: for as long as your account exists, and, as our Terms of Service say, we may keep copies afterwards to improve EZClips. We may delete the original downloaded videos earlier to save space.
- Server logs, and the details kept behind an error code we show you: 14 days.
- What you did on the site (clips opened, kept, rated): while EZClips is in testing, to see what works.
- Backups of account data: 14 days.
6. Where it is kept, and how it is protected
EZClips runs on computers we operate in the United States, and may move to cloud providers. Connections to the site are encrypted (https), passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to stored data is limited to the people who run EZClips. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that nothing will ever go wrong.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can change your "About you" answers and delete your streams in EZClips at any time.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and your data, by emailing [email protected].
- Depending on where you live (for example California, or the European Union and UK), you may have further rights over your personal information. We will honor them as the law requires, including deleting your data when the law gives you that right.
- If you are in the European Union or UK: we use your data to provide the service you signed up for (our agreement with you) and, for testing and improving EZClips, our legitimate interest in making it work well. You can object to that, or complain to your data protection authority.
8. Children
EZClips is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will ask you to agree to it again the next time you sign in.
10. Contact
Questions or requests about your data: [email protected].
